Pain Research

The Stark Neurosciences Research Institute pain group includes investigators who study a range of topics in multiple pain models. Areas of interest include electrophysiology, immunohistochemistry, tract-tracing studies, opto- and chemo-genetics, calcium imaging, and behavioral studies. Within this group, researchers work with several diverse causes of pain, including inflammation, surgery and chemotherapy (including neuropathic pain). Often, these studies intersect with SCI and traumatic brain injury (TBI) models.
